CUE Cantonese Immersion recognizes the importance of play in the learning process for young children. Play and planned activities are the basis for learning in our program. We believe that when children are enjoying the process of play, learning will come naturally.
We focus primarily on teaching conversational Cantonese speaking and listening skills. Children are encouraged to listen, speak and use Cantonese through play, group discussions, songs and interactive learning activities.

About the Director
Kapo Szeto is an Early Childhood Educator and the Founder and Director of CUE Cantonese Immersion, an early Cantonese learning program for children ages three to six. The program focuses on making Cantonese learning fun and enriching by providing children the freedom to learn and explore through play.
At a young age, Kapo immigrated to Vancouver BC from Hong Kong with her family. She grew up learning English as her second language while retaining her native language to communicate with her parents. As a Chinese Canadian, Kapo realized how important and valuable it is to be bilingual in an increasingly multicultural society. She believes that acquiring a second language is a skill which we can all benefit from and it is a gift that we can offer to our next generation as they learn to live in a linguistically and culturally diverse world.
Realizing that there is an interest for non-traditional and age appropriate Cantonese learning programs from parents in the community, Kapo decided to follow her passion for working with children and established an early years Cantonese Immersion program in Vancouver BC.
Understanding that parents were looking for a non-traditional program in which their children can learn Cantonese in a play-base, fun and positive environment, Kapo aimed to shape the program to reflect this value. Kapo’s goal for the program is to offer an enriching learning environment that allows children to participate in meaningful learning experiences and enjoy themselves in the learning process. She strongly believes that inspiring and arousing children’s curiosity and eagerness to learn at an early age will greatly foster their appetite for learning in the future.
CUE Early Cantonese Immersion Program has been established since 2009 and has been well received by the community. We are very proud of its successes and bright future!
