What parents are saying about CUE programs
The overall structure of the class has been thought through very well. I like how students go through different exercises with the teacher. Student engagement is always very high throughout the entire class. My child enjoys all aspects of the class. He is constantly asking what various vocabulary words are in Cantonese and he likes to repeat the words learned from the previous lesson. I highly recommend other parents to register their kid in the class. The length of the lesson is just right and very easy to follow. The classes are fun for the kids and thus learning comes naturally when that is the case. I have already recommended the class to several friends.

My son struggled to pay attention to the other zoom classes we had the past couple of months. However, the duration of the CUE Zoom lesson is the perfect amount of time for my son to keep engaged and to have fun. Kapo is also extremely organized and creative with her lesson plan where it is hard for my son to lose focus.
My son loves the entire CUE Zoom classes. He particularly loves the story time section and game playing section of the Zoom class.CUE Cantonese Immersion has a great reputation for children to learn Cantonese in a play-based environment. It was one of the reasons why I chose this program as I wanted my children to have fun with the language and want to learn Cantonese as opposed to a more academic based (rote learning) Cantonese learning program. I was surprised to see how much my son was willing to participate in the Zoom class and how confident he was when he was providing his answer. I can see his confidence level growing with each Zoom class. Kapo does an incredible job engaging the students during the entire zoom class. She creates an environment where the students feel safe and are encouraged to participate.

My child thinks the lessons are fun and looks forward to both the online and in-person classes. I especially like the structure of the Zoom class and that the activities are able to keep my 4yr old engaged for the full 30 minutes. Since participating in the CUE Zoom classes my child is able to say words in Cantonese and participate in the class even as a shy child. Kapo is so enthusiastic and is able to engage my child for the full class time frame. She makes learning Chinese characters, singing, etc fun! I wish my 8yr old could also have such classes.

I love that the CUE Zoom classes offer a nice variety of activities, ranging from songs to character writing. My son's favorite part of the CUE Zoom classes is story time. The teacher uses a mix of Cantonese and English to tell the story so he is able to follow along. I can then use the vocabulary from the story later on at home to remind him of the meaning. It is a fun environment for kids to learn Cantonese through songs, stories and activities. It made me happy that my son enjoyed the classes and I didn't have to force him to attend! He would sometimes sing songs that he learned from class out of the blue on his own. We've been really happy with the program and are so glad we enrolled our son! It's great that he can still learn Cantonese in a safe way during the pandemic. We're impressed with the structure and delivery of the Zoom classes. Kapo is so organized! She is great with the kids and is always well-prepared! She is enthusiastic and keeps them engaged with questions and games.

CUE is play based and does an amazing job at keeping my child engaged and excited to come to class. The zoom classes have managed to capture everything my child loves about the in person classes but in an online format. She looks forward to the zoom classes and sets up her work station in preparation for the class. Each section is short so the kids don't lose interest. It has been a great experience and I will continue enrolling my child in the zoom classes as long as they are offered. My child's favorite part of the zoom class is the story time. Kapo engages all the kids and encourages participation throughout the story. The zoom classes are really just an extension of the in class learning. My child is just as excited to tell me about all the things she learned in the zoom classes as she was in the in person classes. CUE is play based and makes learning fun. They don't even realize they are learning. CUE provides a great foundation and instills a love of learning if they wish to continue with Cantonese after they age out of the program. Your child does not need experience with Cantonese to enjoy the classes. There are many ways to learn a language and I find the approach that CUE takes the most effective for the age group. Play based keeps kids interested and engaged and looking forward to the classes instead of it being a chore. I was surprised that there is a crafting section in the in person class. It is actually my child's favorite part. She is always so excited to tell me about her craft when I pick her up. It's very difficult to find Cantonese classes for kids and even harder to find something that is play based. I feel very lucky I heard about CUE when it was just in the planning phase. I will be enrolling my other child in CUE. I can't believe how fun it is. I've enrolled my child in other languages classes and we've attended Chinese story times but CUE structures their classes better. The segments are shorter and everything is tied into a theme for the week. If you are considering the class, get on the waitlist early to avoid disappointment. The classes are semester based so you don't have to commit to an entire year if you are unsure if your child will like it.

I really like how the teacher engages with my 5-year-old and the other children. I was worried my daughter would lose interest in a virtual Chinese class, but teacher Kapo makes it fun, and keeps each activity at just the right amount of time to keep the children engaged. My daughter loves the singing and dancing portion of the class, but she also really likes the fact that she can raise her hand and participate! She’s more willing to speak or say certain words in Cantonese, and will often ask me how to say something in Cantonese. I have also noticed her confidence to speak Cantonese has improved! The teachers are great with children, and CUE makes learning Cantonese fun, which is the most important with this age group. I was looking for a class that specifically teaches Cantonese. There are a lot of Mandarin classes out there, but not many options for Cantonese. I also like the fact that it is play based, and the teachers say everything in English and then Cantonese, which is a great way to learn the language. CUE is a great program and I’m really happy my daughter is learning Cantonese and having fun while doing so! I would recommend this class to any parents who would want their children to continue learning Chinese during the pandemic.

My daughter loves singing the songs and being called upon to answer questions! Since participating in the CUE classes, we’ve noticed that our daughter is much more willing to speak Chinese at home and tries to make an effort to use her vocabulary, something we’ve tried for a very long time to encourage. CUE allows your children to learn Cantonese in a fun and interactive environment. It encourages children to become more confident in their everyday language skills. Most traditional Chinese schools focus on reading and writing, and at my daughter’s age, I felt that it was more important for her to work on her oral and communication skills and get more comfortable with the language before embarking on the more technical aspects. CUE is the perfect learning environment for refining those critical early skills! The teacher's style of teaching is interactive and fun. She keeps the kids engaged with fun games, and most of all, encourages the kids to speak Cantonese.

If you’re considering to register, just do it! It benefits you and the child. This way you both get to learn another great language. Plus, the teacher translates everything from Cantonese to English.

The class's lesson is well structured. The teacher is prepared and organized as the lesson progresses. My child espeically like listening to stories read in Cantonese. Since participating in the program, my child's Cantonese vocabulary has expanded. and his Chinese character writing has improved. The CUE Zoom classes provide Cantonese speaking exposure to your child for 30 minutes. It is a good introduction to another language for your child. Learning Cantonese can be boring by focusing on reading and writing Chinese characters, but the focus here is more on songs, books and activities. My son is happy after the class and he is willing to continue to participate. Learning online is a new learning experience for all of us but the teacher is very organized and always has all materials ready days ahead of each class so we know what to expect and follow along just fine! The class duration is just right, he is happy to participate. It’s been a positive experience!

We love that the entire 30 minutes is filled with highly engaging activities that capture the attention of our active 3 year old, while motivating her to enjoy speaking and learning Cantonese. She looks forward to the games, songs and even writing portion of class and looks forward to every class with excitement in her eyes! Since participating in the CUE Zoom classes, she has started to speak Cantonese actively in our daily lives without hesitation and loves to sing the Cantonese songs from class, while making up her own Cantonese lyrics to Ms. Kapo's songs. She is also much more curious and interested in writing Chinese characters since starting these classes. If you are thinking of registering, I would say register and you won't regret it! It is a highly engaging, fun and jam packed class that won't leave your child bored in any way. We have tried other online learning classes where our active child was bored & dreaded class, but with Ms. Kapo's energetic, fun, well-prepared classes surrounding games, songs and stories, your child is bound to have fun while learning Cantonese along the way! Ms. Kapo is so well prepared and engages with every child individually, which in turn makes class so fun that even us parents enjoy class with our kids! I was surprised that my active child could be so engaged via an online class. She constantly asks for when the next class is and always wishes that class was longer than 30 minutes, which is a surprising ask from a 3 year old. It makes us so happy that she enjoys every minute of class and is learning while having fun. It truly is the most engaging Chinese learning program that I could ever imagine, and it is so fun that kids don't even realize they're learning because they're enjoying their time, instead of dreading Chinese class. Every aspect of class has truly exceeded our expectations, especially the fact that our child feels engaged and has fun through every single minute of class! Our little one has certainly found her passion in Cantonese with the CUE Zoom classes and is undoubtedly Ms. Kapo's number one fan! Ms. Kapo is amazingly energetic and engages individually with every child throughout games and songs in class. Her class structure captures the attention of young kids with well prepared props and learning material that is age appropriate.

The CUE classes teach Cantonese in a non-traditional way which I find highly effective for children. In fact, my children are having increased interest in learning Cantonese. Teacher Kapo is highly interactive and offers a variety of activities during class to engage students to learn and retain Chinese.

CUE is not like traditional Chinese school, and more interactive with their learning activities. The focus is more on conversation and interaction rather than memorizing Chinese characters. We found that Kapo and her staff to be very engaging with the children. Our son really enjoys the singing and arts & crafts during the class, and looks forward to completing the worksheets at home. Kapo is really engaging with the students. She finds different ways to interact with each student to make them feel special and not be shy to participate during class.

I find the class structure to be very organized. Ms. Kapo has a great way in setting rules for the kids so that the class is not chaotic yet encourages the kids to speak up and learn. I find the content of the online classes to be similar quality as compared to the in person classes.

The structure of the class allows my daughter to stay engaged. It is the same structure weekly and there is an appropriate amount of time spent on singing, exercise, story time, and characters. Because there are so many activities, my daughter is not bored. CUE had a lot of great reviews when I was initially researching options. I'm glad I received a spot off the wait list as I am very happy with the service level and the quality if classes. Kapo and her team are excellent instructors. I would highly recommend the in-person classes, but with Covid-19, the zoom classes are a great alternative. The program is organized and administered very well.

Kapo is doing a great job (given the limitations of teaching online) in encouraging student involvement whilst learning. I like how organized and well-structured the teaching is; it is evident that Kapo has thoughtfully prepared for the online classes. My kids love the game portion as they each have a turn to participate. They have learned new songs that they will sing on their own during the week. It is a great class, with an experienced teacher, and allows the students to learn Cantonese in a fun and engaging environment. It is well-paced for their age, and it exposes them to Cantonese in a fun way. My kids are retaining more Cantonese than I thought. The resources provided have also been of great help!

CUE classes are a more fun way of learning than the traditional way that I learned (repetitious writing). I think it's a good stepping stone for more Cantonese learning after the child reaches age.The Zoom classes strikes an overall balance: interactive engagement with the child to keep them interested, achieves the objective of introducing more cantonese language for the children, short time duration for young children's attention spans, and singing songs appears to give the kids a sense of routine. Singing is Ella's favorite part of the class, and repeating the words. The classes are well organized, and teacher Kapo appears very well under control.

CUE teaches children Cantonese in multiple ways, such as through storytelling, singing songs, playing games, creative art, writing and through listening and conversing. Teacher Kapo is very engaging and keeps the kids focused and entertained. Since participating in the CUE classes, my child practices more Chinese at home, and I would often hear my child sing Chinese songs and repeat phrases learnt from class. Teacher Kapo is a very experienced teacher. She focuses on learning while having fun. Even if children have limited Chinese experience, she repeats everything in Chinese and English to ensure everyone has a chance to understand. CUE is educational and a fun way to learn at the same time. Teacher Kapo includes a lot of content in the 30 minute Zoom classes and is able to keep the kids engaged with a steady pace of learning.

The structure of the classes are appropriate and the learning activities are fun for the kids. My kids like the stories the most. The main reason that we would recommend CUE is that the program allows the kids to have fun while learning a new language. What makes me happy is that my kids are able to tell their grandparents all the new songs and words that they’ve learned. We chose this program because we liked the structure and my kids really enjoy the classes. They are able to remember the words of the songs and sing it at home. It’s very sweet that they are able to sing happy birthday in Cantonese to their grandparents! We’re grateful that there are alternative learning options during this time. Teacher Kapo engages well with the students and is able to captivate the kids through stories and songs. Thank you for providing zoom lessons!

I like that the setup and structure of the Zoom classes is exactly like the in-person classes. My son thrives on routine and schedule, so it's nice having this similarity. My son enjoys the games and songs. The teacher repeats everything in English and the classes are play based, which is perfect for my son's age group. The lessons and activities are age appropriate and fun. The teacher acknowledges all of her students and makes an effort to give each student a chance to participate. She is very organized and is passionate about her work.

My child really looks forward to class and seeing Teacher Kapo every week! Teacher Kapo is a great teacher. She’s organized, lively, and very knowledgeable! I love the bilingual interactions. If you're thinking of registering, just do it! Even better if one of the parents needs to learn Cantonese too. The parent can learn alongside the child in the online classes. Thank you for making Cantonese fun and keeping the language from dying!

We noticed that our son isn’t as shy and is more willing to speak Cantonese with us since joining CUE classes. Kapo’s class is a lot of fun. She is well organized, prepared and is always interacting with her students. Kapo and her staff are able to find different ways to interact with each students to make them feel special and not be shy during class. CUE is not like traditional Chinese schools, and is more interactive with their activities. The focus is more on conversation and interaction rather than memorizing Chinese characters. In lieu of physical classes because of COVID-19, we’re really happy to have this opportunity with CUE for our son to continue his Cantonese studies.

The structure of the class is predictable so our child knows what to expect each week she meets her teacher. She loves the songs that she enjoyed from the in-person learning, and the props that the teacher uses to introduce each week's theme. The program is not intimidating and designed appropriately for the intended age groups. There is a good mix of social interaction and lecture, with time to practice their writing. The themes are engaging. If parents are looking for an easy, gradual introduction to Cantonese with a variety of activities, then this is a great option for them. It's also great for parents who want to refresh or learn Cantonese at the same time. We are surprised that our child was able to remember the songs that were sung in class, and able to "teach" us the words that she learned.

The teacher is able to capture the child's attention through story-time, games, and word play which the child is familiar with and makes them feel more comfortable to learn the language. The interaction and activities are not like traditional Chinese classes. Children have the chance to answer questions and learn through play. My child is more willing to speak Cantonese since joining CUE classes. I'm impressed by the teacher's ability to capture the child's attention and impart the lesson on hand. My child is very willing to participate which is a huge change from the first class.

We’ve always enjoyed CUE as it is more fun than the traditional Chinese school I had growing up. The level of engagement with the students is great. My kid has many opportunities to speak during the class. If you are deciding to register, it is worth a try because the class is short enough your child will stay engaged! My child really enjoys the classes. I love it when she sings the songs she’s learned to me. It’s been fun to watch her learn to speak more Cantonese. The Zoom classes are similar to that as in person, just shorter and in front of a computer instead.

CUE Cantonese class is a good way to spark your child’s interest in learning Cantonese. It is a fun experience and allows children to progress at their own pace. The duration of 30 mins for the Zoom Class is perfect to keep my son engaged the whole time. He is starting to know the strokes of Chinese writing and I’m surprised how willingly he follows Teacher Kapo to say different Chinese words. I appreciate the school switching to online classes due to the pandemic. They value the health of students and commit to slow the spread of the virus.

The teacher is very prepared and organized. The material and length of the class has been thoughtfully prepared and keeps my child very engaged. She enjoys the games where she can answer questions. I thought it would be difficult to expect your child to learn Cantonese by just attending the class, but with the worksheets plus parent initiative throughout the week, kids will be able to learn new vocabulary. The translations by the teacher are excellent for teaching children how to converse in Cantonese rather than formal reading. I'm very satisfied with the class and would continue forward. The teacher is thoughtful with her approach and really tries to engage the students every class. Excellent execution!

The structure is great! My child is actively engaged and participating as best as possible. If you are thinking of registering, just do it! My child has limited Cantonese/experience but the class structure/pace makes it fun and engaging. He is learning. If you ever offered a "full time" one where he is fully immersed in it daily we would look at signing up! It is difficult to fully engage and interact with children over Zoom or any such platform, but the teacher is making most of it and is doing a great job.

I really enjoy the structure of the class. The routine is easy for the child to follow and each concept is short and direct which holds the child's interest, especially with a three to four year old child. My child likes the game component of the lesson. She eagerly participates. She also enjoys singing the daily calendar songs. I have noticed that my child shows a strong interest towards learning, from singing songs to pretending to be a teacher, or even telling me what she knows in Cantonese or what she would like to know. I would recommend to the parents to try one session of the CUE class to see if their child likes the online learning. It is a more fun and interactive Chinese School. Much more dynamic than what I have experienced in the past. I was very surprised by how much vocabulary as well as interest my child has taken to the Cantonese language. She is picking it up and shows more interest in learning the language. The lessons, materials, art ideas all seemed well planned and thought out. Kapo Lo See is great! She has a warm personality. She teaches with a blend of English and Cantonese which helps the student to understand the lesson as well as building new vocabulary.
