Program Policies & Procedures

Are there any admission requirements for the program?
The child needs to be socially and emotionally ready to participate and learn in class independently. If the child experiences prolonged separation anxiety, one parent is required to accompany their child until they are ready to participate on their own.

How do I register for the program?
Registration is free. Click on the Register Now button above and fill in the necessary information to submit your registration.

What happens after I submit my registration form?
We will send you a confirmation email to inform you of your child’s ranking on the wait list(s).

How does the wait list work?
Each class time has an individual wait list that will carry over to a new term. There is no need to re-register for an upcoming term if your child is already on the wait list. You may register your child that is not yet 3 years old. It is a good idea to register early to have a better chance of acquiring a spot once they turn 3. When a spot is available for your child, we will notify you by e-mail or phone. It will be your responsibility to reply on time to accept a spot offer within the given deadline. No response will automatically result in giving up the spot and your child will be taken off the wait list.

Payment Method
We accept payment by e-transfer. Details regarding payment will be included in the e-mail when a spot is offered to your child. Tuition must be paid in full upon accepting the spot in the program.

Cancellation & Refunds
CUE provides full refund for registered in-person classes, minus an administration fee per withdrawal request made before the first class start date of a term. Withdrawal requests made before and 2nd class is given full refund, minus a processing fee and the cost of class(es) attended. No refunds after the 2nd class. No refunds or make-up class for missed classes. CUE Cantonese Immersion reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to change the conditions of the refund policy at any time. Customers will be advised of any changes prior to enrollment in the program.

How does Priority Registration work? Does it include siblings?
Priority registration is given to currently enrolled students and their siblings that are continuing a consecutive term. When a student discontinues the program, they will lose priority registration privileges. Failure to submit your priority registration before the deadline will automatically result in the lost of your child’s spot.  No exceptions.

What is the age required to participate in the program?
CUE Cantonese Immersion is for children between the age of 3 to 6 years old. Students must be 3 years old by session start date to participate in the program. Children are to exit the program when they turn 7 years old.

Are parents allowed to participate in class?
This is not a parent participatory class. Children are to participate and learn independently with same aged peers. We encourage gradual entry if your child needs time transitioning into a classroom learning environment.

Parent Liability
Parents are responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing any damaged property caused by their child(ren) during their time on premise. This includes damages to property that is difficult and expensive to repair as a result of the mischievous, unpredictable or deliberate acts of the child – this can include things like wall vandalism, damaging electronics or classroom materials.

Does my child need to be potty trained?
It is preferred that children be potty trained or be comfortable in a diaper for the duration of class. There are children size toilets on premise and staff do not do diaper changing.

Parent Drop-off & Pick-up
Children must be dropped off and picked up by authorized adults listed on your Authorized Child Pick-Up Form. Children must be picked up within 10 minutes after class ends. Repeated lateness may lead to penalty charges of $1/minute after the 10-minute pick-up time. If you or others on the Authorized list is unable to drop-off or pick-up your child, please inform the program instructor in writing of the changes in advance. Please note that your child will not be released to someone not authorized to do so. Valid photo ID will be requested.

Medical/Learning Needs
Parents/guardians are required to state in the registration of any allergies, or physical, emotional, or learning needs their children may have.
