Program Policies & Procedures
Registration & Waitlist
After submitting a registration form, you will receive a confirmation email with your child’s position on the waitlist. There is no fee to join the waitlist. If your child is already on the waitlist, there is no need to register again for future terms. We accept waitlist registrations for children under 3 years old. We recommend registering when your child turns 2 years old to be added to the waitlist early. We will contact you by email if a spot becomes available.
Refund Policy
Refunds will be pro-rated, minus a $50.00 cancellation fee per student, for cancellation requests made no later than 24 hours after the completion of the second scheduled class. After that, no refunds or credits will be issued. The enrollment fee of $25 paid at the time of registration is non-refundable. There are no refunds, credits, or make-up classes for missed classes. Refunds will be issued for any classes canceled by CUE. CUE Cantonese Immersion reserves the right to change the refund policy at its discretion. Any changes will be communicated to customers prior to enrollment in the program.
Payment
We accept payment by e-transfer.
How does Priority Registration work? Are siblings included?
Priority registration is given to currently enrolled students and their siblings who are continuing into the next consecutive term. Failure to submit your priority registration by the given deadline will result in the loss of your child’s spot.
What is the age required to participate in the program?
Students must be 3 years old by session start date to participate in the program.
Are parents allowed to participate in class?
This is not a parent-participation class. However, parents are welcome to stay during the gradual entry period or if their child needs extra support while adjusting to the classroom. Our goal is for children to participate and learn independently alongside their same-age peers.
Gradual Entry
We offer gradual entry for students who need extra time to adjust to the new learning environment. During gradual entry, we ask that:
- Only one parent or adult be present.
- Indoor shoes and handwashing are required upon entry.
Please contact the program coordinator if you would like to arrange a gradual entry plan for your child.
Does my child need to be potty trained?
We encourage that children be potty trained or will be comfortable in a diaper for the duration of class. There are children size toilets on premise.
Parent Drop-off & Pick-up
Children must be dropped off and picked up by authorized adults listed on the Authorized Child Pick-Up Form. Repeated late pick-ups may result in a penalty charge of $1 per minute after the 10-minute grace period. If you or anyone on the authorized list is unable to drop off or pick up your child, please inform the program instructor in writing in advance. Please note that children will not be released to anyone who is not authorized. Valid photo ID may be required for verification.
Medical/Learning Needs
Parents/guardians are advised to inform program staff of any allergies, medical concerns, or learning needs their child may have prior to enrolling in the program.
